TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN...

The was no flood damage to area where we went…  Lots of damaged homes and trees down, power lines down and cars damaged.  The crisis in this area is the fact that they have no electricity or drinking water and might not have that returned to full use for at least 3 to 4 more weeks.

Just imagine:    You must stand in line to get into your local Walmart.  The line might be a 4 to 5 hour wait.  The store is only letting 3 to 4 people in at a time and you can only spend $20.00.  What will you buy?  For those of you that have babies… will it be diapers and formula?   Will you wait in line everyday to be able to make a meal for your family?    You might think of driving to the next state over (about a 2 hour drive) but you aren’t sure if they’ll have gasoline to get you there or back…  you need to save your gasoline for your generator so you don’t lose the food you do have in your refrigerator…  This is for the lucky people.

Trees and Power Lines in a neighborhood in Laurel, MS.

This is after a little bit of clean up took place...  Four days after Hurricane Katrina came through.  It took 2 days before anyone was able to get through these streets.

My Aunt and Uncle, in front of us, have to avoid
live power lines hanging in street...

More trees and power lines in street.

Trees uprooted everywhere!

We estimated this tree to be over 150 years old!
My nephews, Hunter and Bailey.
